DESCRIPTION:NortherJoin enJOY arts\, Emerald LENS and School of Digital Arts for an evening of short films exploring women’s lives\, experiences and health\, followed by an opportunity to talk\, reflect and share ideas about how we create change.n Light Cinema\, Stretford \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWe’ll be screening three short films: \n\n\n\nMotherhood Unscripted – exploring the realities\, expectations and experiences of motherhood in times of crisis. Captured as part of our Mothers in Crisis project which explored experiences of Mothers during Covid and WWII (2022-2023) \n\n\n\nCost of Us – bringing women’s experiences and perspectives to the conversation around the pressures and inequalities that shape our lives (2024-2025) \n\n\n\n\n“I think that that was really important for me as well\, through this experience of [getting] the sort of financial education that women definitely don’t get\, particularly looking at the pension pot that I’m going to be retiring on “ \n\n\n\nPhoebe\, Project Participant \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWhy are we not talking about women’s health – sharing the voices and lived experiences of women’s health experiences and stories from across Greater Manchester (2025-2026) \n\n\n\nFollowing the films\, we’ll host a short interactive discussion and Q&A\, to share thoughts\, feelings and pledge to make a change. \n\n\n\nThe event builds on previous screenings and creative workshops developed around this series of work. Our work brings together storytelling\, drama\, music\, film\, visual arts and creative writing to explore lived experience and amplify voices that are often overlooked. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEmerald LENS CIC brings complementary expertise in community engagement\, creative facilitation and building welcoming spaces where participants feel valued and able to contribute. Their approach is rooted in creating opportunities for people to explore their experiences through creativity\, conversation and shared activity.
