U Kino Film Festival : Ukrainian Shorts
July 9, 2024 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
U-Kino is a festival of Ukrainian cinema with an aim to raise visibility of Ukrainian film and culture more broadly.
The intention is to explore possibilities of ‘disagreeing well’, sophisticated spaces to explore conflict and the role of creative practice. The festival takes place on 9, 30 and 31 July, 6 and 7 August and 6 November, to coincide with commemorative events at the National Museum of Holodomor Genocide, Kyiv.
The first of a series of film events shows contemporary shorts exploring war, Ukraine, space and place. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Valeriia Lukianets, director of Heading Home. The event is free to attend, all welcome.
